Congratulations to

Rev. Monsignor

Michael F Crotty

On the 1st February 2020, His Holiness Pope Francis appointed the Rev. Monsignor Michael F. Crotty, a Priest of the Diocese of Cloyne, as the Apostolic Nuncio to Burkina Faso, elevating him to the dignity of Archbishop, and appointing him to the titular See of Lindisfarne.

On behalf of the parish I would like to wish Msgr. Michael God’s blessing on Saturday 15th August as he will be ordained to the Episcopate in St. Colman’s Cathedral, Cobh.  Due to Covid 19 restrictions attendance is limited but the ceremony can be viewed by Live Streaming by logging on to cobhcathedralparish.ie.

Mass of thanksgiving will be celebrated in Cobh on Sunday 16th August.

A mass of thanksgiving will also be celebrated in Mitchelstown on Monday 17th August at 7.30pm. This will also be live streamed and Covid 19 restrictions will be followed.

“Monsignor Michael is a native of Mitchelstown.  His appointment as Archbishop and Papal Nuncio to Burkina Faso is a great honour for Michael, his family and the people of Mitchelstown.  We wish him every blessing and success in his new role.”
